Organic Black Seeded Simpson is a dependable heirloom leaf lettuce grown since 1850. It produces tender, light green leaves with a crinkled texture and attractive frilled edges. When allowed to mature, the crisp inner leaves naturally blanch to a pale green or nearly white color. Harvest baby greens in about 21 days or full-sized leaves in approximately 40 days. Plants stay under 12" tall, grow in full sun to part shade, and tolerate hot, dry conditions and light frost better than many lettuce varieties.
