Durango is a productive hybrid chile pepper that can be enjoyed fresh as a mirasol or dried as a guajillo. Vigorous plants produce tapered 6.5–8-inch fruits that mature from green to bright red and develop a deep burgundy color when dried. The peppers offer fruity, smoky flavor with mild-to-medium heat ranging from 2,500–5,000 Scoville units. Roast, simmer, dry or grind them for sauces, rubs and powders. Reaches maturity in approximately 70–80 days after transplanting.
