Pasilla Bajio Chilaca Chile Pepper produces long, dark green peppers with a mild heat and rich, earthy flavor. Fresh chilaca peppers are excellent in salsas and enchilada sauces, while the dried pods, known as pasilla peppers, are a traditional ingredient in mole and other Mexican dishes. Plants are resistant to tobacco mosaic virus and produce peppers with 1,000-2,000 Scoville heat units.
