Organic Red Russian kale is an heirloom variety brought to North America in 1885. Its tender, dark green, oak-shaped leaves feature wavy edges and striking reddish-purple veins and stems. Naturally sweet and even sweeter after frost, the leaves are excellent for baby greens, mesclun mixes, garnishes, and sautéing. Harvest young greens in about 21 days or allow plants to mature for up to 50 days. This cold- and frost-tolerant kale grows 12"–24" tall in full sun.
