Organic Purple Petra basil produces large, glossy, dark reddish-purple leaves with a mild, sweet flavor. The colorful foliage is delicious in pesto, pasta, and salads and can be used to create pink-tinted vinegar or oil. It also brings rich ornamental color to herb gardens, vegetable beds, and containers. This frost-sensitive basil grows more than 24" tall in full sun to part shade and produces small lavender-blue flower spikes in late summer.
