Organic Common chives are an easy-to-grow perennial herb with slender, hollow leaves that add a mild onion flavor to salads, potatoes, soups, and other dishes. Edible pinkish-purple flowers appear from late spring into summer, attracting bees and other pollinators while adding color and flavor to salads. Plants grow 12"–24" tall in full sun to part shade and are drought tolerant, deer resistant, and hardy in zones 4–8. Chives also grow well in containers and can be grown indoors for year-round harvests.
