Fountain Care & Maintenance

Place the fountain on a flat, level surface with proper support. A prepared base of gravel, flagstone, pavers, or another hardscaping material is preferred to help maintain stability.

Keep the fountain filled with clean water while in use. Running the pump without enough water can damage the pump and reduce the life of the fountain.
Remove leaves, dirt, and debris regularly to help maintain proper water flow and preserve the appearance of the fountain.

Fountains may be cleaned with mild soap and a soft-bristle brush. DO NOT use bleach, as this may affect the patina.

Algaecides available at pond supply or garden shops may be used to help control algae buildup.

During freezing weather, fountains must be completely drained and dried before the first freeze. Pumps must be removed and stored indoors.
Fountains must be covered with an appropriate fountain cover, not a tarp or any other type of plastic.

Covers should be checked weekly and after stormy weather or heavy snowfall, as they can shift and expose bowls or basins to moisture damage.

To help maintain the finish, we recommend applying a clear acrylic spray rated for outdoor use once a year.
