The Catalpa Tree is a striking shade tree with giant heart-shaped leaves and uniquely twisted branches. In May, it produces showy clusters of large, orchid-like white flowers with purple and yellow spots. These flowers are followed by long, bean-like seed pods. Avoid planting over sidewalks or driveways, as the flowers and fruit can be slippery.
